50 YEARS
OF PASSION
“We need something new,” thought Angelo Irrera when a butcher casually talked to him about the difficulties and dangers he faced in storing meat on equipment lacking even the most basic safety measures. At that time, Angelo, along with his brothers, was producing aluminum window frames. His innate curiosity and his belief in the potential of this material led him to invent an aluminum rail specifically meant to allow the internal sliding of the hook and prevent it from dropping.
The mechanism of the first switch was simple and allowed the hook to move in two directions: straight-right or straight-left.
That limit had to be overcome. Thus, a long series of sleepless nights began, filled with the persistent thought: “There must be a way… “.
We have never been able to discover how the old stamp sponge Angelo constantly fiddled with in his hands turned into the patent for three and four-way switches, which are still used by many companies in the industry today!
After definitively abandoning parallel production of window frames, Angelo opened his artisanal company, hired his first young and eager apprentice, and embarked on his new adventure.
While waiting for the new product to gain recognition, it became necessary to consider ways to sustain the small company. Additional investments were directed toward the production of aluminum shelving and work tables to expand the offerings for butchers.
This was a concern frequently raised by butchers when they sought to install the rail system designed for their shops. In 1987, a new version of the rail system was introduced, featuring reduced heights for rails, accessories, support beams, and a new fixing system with clamps. Smaller enhancements, such as rounding the tip of the hook, were implemented to further improve the user experience with this “lower” rail system.
“I’d like to weigh the meat without removing it from the rail…” and so on. Some needed a sliding door, some needed to overcome height differences, some requested a hoisting system for the meat…
Customers made stimulating requests, and Angelo employed his creativity to meet various needs. He soon emerged as a pioneer in the market, introducing many innovative solutions such as the integrated scale within the rail, the hoist with direct insertion into the rail, the electric entrainer, and the quarter-carrying trolley—an economical solution for transporting quarters from the loading area to the cold room.
The classic all-aluminum shelving evolved with the introduction of two new models, both featuring aluminum frame shelves and food-grade plastic staves. They both offered a significant advantage: the ability to remove these staves for easy cleaning and sanitization, even in dishwashers.
To reach a broader market, we expanded our product range by focusing on the study and production of fruit and vegetable displays. Thus, a new production department was established, producing a wide range of practical and elegant products that immediately received strong approval
Customer demands prompted us to develop the “Strong” shelving line, specifically designed to fulfill high load capacity requirements, cover longer spans, and provide greater depths compared to standard shelves.
The deepening of international relationships resulted in the establishment of a dedicated sales office. The additional resources enabled us to promptly serve worldwide customers with the same attention and dedication that have always characterized us.
Our founder has left us, but he has left behind his wealth of experience and, above all, the values of an ‘old-style’ entrepreneur who placed great importance on his word and responsibilities. To him, providing a safe, reliable, and durable product was primarily a moral commitment.
It’s the 50th anniversary of our company!
We are proud to keep on saying ‘We will do everything possible!’ to our customers. We are aware that the customers who seek our assistance and advice are the ones who have enabled us to grow, progress, and improve.
Thank you for traveling this road with us!
